Musical Art Society of Lancaster

Founded in 1916, the Musical Art Society of Lancaster is a performing and service musical organization comprised of professional and non-professional musicians.

Since 1920 we have been affiliated with the National Federation of Music Clubs, the world's largest musical organization. NFMC is dedicated to finding and fostering musical talent, championing American music and American artists, sponsoring National Music Week annually the first full week of May, and promoting the "Crusade for Strings."  The Musical Art Society promotes these national objectives locally, and has received many Awards of Merit from N.F.M.C.

The Musical Art Society of Lancaster sponsors the following:
** The Workshop for Young Performing Artists
** The Lancaster County Music Camp
** The Lancaster County Youth Symphony
** The Lancaster County Junior Orchestra
** Many scholarships for young musicians

We are musically involved all year. Our membership meetings are held October through May, combined with a special musical program or concert which follows the business session. We also have a summer concert series usually in June.

We welcome performing musicians as well as those who are appreciative of good music. Membership is obtained through one sponsor, and approval of the Executive Board. Information is available from Emma Herr at (717) 394-1200, or Jeanne Marie Donley at (717) 393-2574.
